The Lord will provide a sacrifice
GENESIS
22:13
And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind [him] a ram caught in a
thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt
offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place
Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.
HEBREWS 9:13
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the
unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of
Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
How can the gulf between God and man be bridged? We, who deserve death, needed a perfect, righteous sacrifice to stand in our place. God provided that sacrifice.
JOHN 3:16
For God so loved the world, [that's you and me!] that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
