Jehovah - shalom

The Lord our peace
Judges
6:23-24
And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.
Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom
Mark 4:39
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the
wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto
you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
How many times have you cried out for peace? In this world one of the greatest tools of the adversary is to keep us busy and on edge. Get up early to go to work to make a living; the laundry seems never ending and the kids are driving you nuts.
I was never truly at peace until I had a personal experience with Jesus Christ. Does that mean I still don't get stressed out and all up tight? No, but what it does mean is that when I get my priorities straight and get on my knees and pray all fears melt away. I know that Jesus has faced and overcome everything that I could possibly go through so that when I pray I know He understands. He is a friend that I can really talk to, and one who has the power which will allow me to overcome anything.
I will still make mistakes but I have someone so close that if I will slow down enough to listen He will gently lead me on the right path. There is a wonderful promise.
Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
This promise is not for me alone; His hand is outstretched to
you if you will come.
