Chapter 31

What Does It All Mean?

I hope that you can see from this story that I haven’t tried to build myself up. Many of the events I found embarrassing to share with you,  but it was necessary to show how supernaturally God has overcome all of these obstacles to bring me to the place of redemption or adoption. It was nothing that I did.  Indeed,  I know that often times my thoughts, my actions, my helping was detrimental to what God was trying to do.

John Chancellor, the newsman,  probably summed that up best when he asked the question, "Do you want to know how to make God laugh? Tell him your plans!"

I never discovered real peace and joy in my life until I yielded myself completely to God and trusted that His direction for my life was the best. He didn’t need my help, He didn’t need my modifications and He certainly didn’t need me trying to second-guess what He was trying to accomplish. All I have to do is Only Believe.

Our lives continue to unfold each day with many new and wonderful thingsJehovah_Shalom.gif (9470 bytes) being made known to us. Satan still is our adversary and he fights any move that God works in our lives, but they are dying gasps from an already defeated foe. My sons still are prisoners, struggling with this world,  but we are firmly convinced that they will return to the Lord.   Linda’s and my prayers will be answered.  I and my household will be saved in God’s good time.   I am finishing this narrative in a park close by my work. It is a beautiful spring day with fluffy white clouds floating on a pale blue sky. The little bird I have just fed is serenading me with a song that gives me such peace and contentment. I am surrounded by nature, the canvas if you will, that my Lord painted for us to live within. As beautiful as this world can be it is only a shadow of what is to come.

The whole purpose of this lengthy story is summed up in these last two paragraphs. Can you look back on your life and see things that have happened to you that you can’t explain? Perhaps in this fast-paced world you don’t feel at home, it somehow feels alien to you. Hopefully not, but maybe you have experienced some of the things that I have gone through, or even worse. Maybe you feel all alone and you just want someone to care, someone to talk to, someone to go to for advice. He’s here. Jesus is waiting for you to call on him now.

He knows what you are going through. He knows the pain you are feeling inside. He has suffered as you now suffer and he has endured as you now endure. But best of all, HE HAS OVERCOME!  There is an escape from the injustice, the cares and worries of this evil age. Escape is not found in drugs, alcohol, sex or mindless seeking after pleasure. The peace you are looking for can only be found in one place, in Jesus Christ. Believe me, I know.  Please listen to the song   If Heaven Was Never Promised to Me

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring but I do know that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will continue to walk with me through these sands of time. We will leave footprints and I’m sure that there will still be times when he will carry me. I do know, without a shadow of doubt, that he will be with me, even in me as we walk together. Leaving our Footprints as we walk into Eternity.
